November 2011 Meeting Summary

Attendance:  25 members and 2 guests

Treasurer's report accepted as read

President/VP Report:  Brian had a moment of silence for both Don & Carol.  Mike F. printed out the page from the STAR mall showing the remembrance patches.  Donations are welcome for the flowers purchased on behalf of the Chapter for Don & Carol.  Brian will get the address out to everyone for Carol’s service.

We’re back to our winter meeting schedule at the Stroudwater Christian Church – beware the swear jar is back out!

The Maine Star Ambassador business cards are in.  They have contact information for all three Maine chapters, so Brian passed around the box and offered that people could take some to hand out to anyone they meet who is interested in any of our STAR chapters.

The winners of the 2011 Odometer Challenge:  Clyde (7,514 miles) & Jen (4,998 miles).  Congratulations Clyde & Jen!

The Bylaws Committee will be meeting after today’s Chapter meeting.

LOS Rep:  Betsy not present.

STAR Vet Rep:  Brian has decided to leave this position open until 2012.  Don worked very hard this year.  Brian put together a picture frame with a picture of Don & Robyn, a picture of a Vet patch and an IWMAOFS rocker for Robyn.  Tiff will attach a picture of the picture frame with the meeting minutes.

STAR Membership:  Dan said that he & Ginny have sent updated information to prospective members.  The season is winding down, and we don’t have any new members to vote in yet.

Road Captain:  The rides went well this year.  Looking forward to riding next year.

Upcoming events:  Tiff has reserved room in the Church for our post holiday party.

Safety Minute of the Month:  Watch out for animals - they are on the move.  Make sure to point out any road kill.  Watch out for sand on corners / wash outs
