June 2011 Meeting Summary
Attendance:  13 members
Minutes for May 2011 accepted as read
President/VP Report:  Brian and Tiffany were chosen to be Maine State Ambassadors.  Brian will remain in place as Chapter President.

Carol's patches are in!  The patch and decal are being sold for a minimum donation of $5.00 for the set.  The amount of money raised over and above the cost of the patches will be donated to the Dempsey Center in Carol's name.

Treasurer's report accepted as read.

LobSTAR Bake 2011:  The bake has been posted online and sent out via email.

LOS Rep:  Not present.  The Ride for Strides will be on 7/23/11.

STAR Vet Rep:  4th of July parade in Thomaston.  The parade will start forming at 9:45 a.m. at Georges Valley High School (47 Valley Street).  The parade will be on the street at 11 a.m.  We have to be there no later than 10:45 a.m.  They would love to see flags & we can decorate our bikes after we get there.

STAR Kids/Teens:  Zack went to the Sea Dogs game on 5/29/11.  He now has a helmet and goes on short rides around town.
STAR Membership:  Not present
Road Captain:  Today's ride:  Brian is leading & Jim is tail gunner

The Alzheimer's ride is today.

The Whoopie Pie Festival is on 6/25/11 in Dover-Foxcroft.

Brian is planning on going to Laconia on 6/17/11.

The Bar Harbor trip is on 6/10/11 -- there are 17 people going this year.  Will be leaving Woody's at 10 a.m. on the 10th.

The Iron Azz Ride to Fort Kent is on 7/2/11.

The 4th of July parade in Thomaston -- Don will send out directions.

The next monthly meeting/ride will be on 7/9/11.  Betty said that Jeff will help plan the ride.

Ride for Strides is on 7/23/11.

Website Committee:  Needs to meet to get training on the website software

STATE Rally Committee:  Brian thanked everyone for their help, and was very impressed with the turnout

Safety Minute of the Month:  avoid large pot holes, people crossing the street & sealed cracks (a.k.a. “tar snakes”)
